A trained and experienced educator and an award-winning radio producer and presenter, Tony Ryan’s work over many years has combined education and broadcasting into a career in educational broadcasting. A multi award-winning radio producer, Tony has extensive expertise in radio and audio production and presentation, print publications, and website development and writing.
His current lifelong learning radio and internet project, a weekly radio series called Learning Works, is produced and presented each week on PBA FM. Selected items are sent every four or five weeks to some 20 community radio stations around South Australia. And adult learners and schools across Australia can usually access Learning Works interviews through this website within a week of broadcast.

In addition to his earlier work for many years with ABC Radio and more recently for Radio Adelaide, he has extensive interviewing experience for the Australian College of Educators and the National Library of Australia, for the national oral history project Conversations. He has also produced Continuing Medical Education resources, as part of an award-winning national training program for General Practitioners, and worked as a project officer in 19967/97 with the Southern division of General Practice inAdelaide.
Tony Ryan continues a long involvement in adult community education, and especially in South Australia with Adult Learners Week. He was for several years a member of the SA Minister’s Adult Community Education Council. For three years, Tony coordinated and presented courses in Radio Drama Production, TV Drama Production and Scriptwriting for Radio at the University of South Australia. He has also contributed to courses as Visiting Media Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney and as occasional lecturer with post graduate education students at the University of Adelaide.
A graduate of both The University of Sydney and The University of Adelaide, and Fellow of the Australian College of Educators and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, Tony is currently undertaking the national College Archives project for the Australian College of Educators – www.austcolled.com.au . He is currently Visiting Media Fellow for Adult Learning Australia - www.ala.asn.au.
Tony Ryan has enjoyed a long involvement in community choirs and continues to present classical music programs on PBA FM.
